Elastosil E43

Under European Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004, materials such as silicones can be rated food-compliant where they are manufactured using practices that “under normal or foreseeable conditions of use, they do not transfer their constituents to food in quantities which could endanger human health, bring about an unacceptable change in the composition of the food, or bring about a deterioration in the organoleptic characteristics thereof.”1

In other words, the material is suitable for use in products that will come into contact with food.

Silicones have many applications, including as sealants, encapsulants or adhesives. Our range of Wacker products includes several food-compliant silicones, each with their own unique qualities and uses.

Curing into a transparent, medium-hard elastomer, Elastosil E43 N silicone is a highly elastic, tear resistant adhesive offering resilience to spikes in temperature up to 200⁰C.

Elastosil E50 N is a variant which provides additional rigidity and is suitable for coating and potting applications including textile coatings.

Elastosil RT 601 is a highly transparent, low viscosity electronics potting compound which lends itself to optical applications including solar panels.

Providing excellent heat stability to electronic components, Elastosil RT 602 cures in as little as 5 minutes when exposed to heat.

Elastosil RT 604 has a viscosity of just 800 mPas when mixed, allowing this potting compound to flow easily around electronic components.

Forming a very hard, flame retardant material when cured, Elastosil RT 607 provides excellent heat resistance to delicate components.
