The INTERTRONICS ITS800 Soldering Aid, also known as a spudger or black stick, is an extremely useful tool for anyone involved in high tech assembly. Made of a specially formulated, anti-static nylon & fibreglass mixture, it will not scratch PCBs or components during use and is safe for use on plastic without damaging the surface. The ITS 800 Soldering Aid is 150 mm long, with a pointed end for probing, and a flat end for forming and clinching. It also has an integral wire hook.

“I worked as an electronics repair technician in retail for a number of years, and our store experimented with a number of black sticks/spudgers. The best one we ever found was one made by Intertronics. Even though they offer superior durability, they don’t seem to be any more damaging to plastic surfaces.
