Pro Wick Desoldering Braid
About Pro Wick Desoldering Braid
Desolder braid (wick) is pre-fluxed copper braid that is used to remove solder, which allows components to be replaced and excess solder to be removed. For the fastest wicking action, rosin flux coated Pro Wick desoldering braid is ideal for high volume PCB production/repair environments. It cleans connections thoroughly during desoldering, which helps to ensure maximum solderability.
Pro Wick Desoldering Braid starts with only the finest oxygen-free and oil-free fine gauge wire. The 100% copper wick is then coated with flux, which cleans connections thoroughly during desoldering to ensure maximum solderability. This thin coating of flux also provides dependable, long-lasting protection from oxidation. G3 Flux Remover is effective for removal of flux residues after high temperature reflow.

Directions for Use
Be sure the solder iron is at adequate temperature. Different size braids may need an adjustment in temperature.
For solder removal, place proper size braid in equal size diameter of soldering tip onto solder joint. Apply firm pressure down with a slight rotation of the wrist to ensure that all of the solder is removed.
Remember that fast wicking is very important to ensure that the PCB will not be damaged due to extensive heat. Do not apply any lateral pressure to the circuit board, which may cause damage to pads.
