About INT 630 Conformal Coating Masking Tape
In addition to the extensive range of masking tapes for both printed circuit board fabrication and assembly, INTERTRONICS offers INT 630 conformal coating masking tape. INT 630 is based on polyester film coated with a surface conductive adhesive. It is ideal for use with standard temperatures (up to 110°C) and leaves no residue on removal.
The objective of conformal coating is to apply a protective layer to the printed circuit board and components to prevent degradation in electrical performance when subjected to environmental stresses encountered in specific operating conditions. Humidity is the most prevalent and also the most damaging environmental stress as it can drastically lower insulation resistance between conductors, accelerate high-voltage breakdown and corrode conductors. Conformal coatings also protect both the printed circuit board and components from airborne or solvent borne contaminants.
Many components and printed circuit board locations must remain uncoated. INT 630 anti-static polyester based conformal coating masking tape protects areas for use as connector locations or insertion areas for interchangeable devices, so that they remain free of the protective coating.

Applications
Some adhesive tapes have been found to react with the various conformal coating types. INT 630 caters for all current coating types and processes and can be used with:
- silicone
- polyurethane
- acrylic
- polyimide conformal coatings
without fear of: residue, line bleed, reaction to the coating or tearing, creating dust on the assemblies
