When our colleague Darren‘s first aid course for volunteer rugby coaches found itself without a venue, Intertronics stepped in to provide space. We hosted a group of eight volunteer coaches, including Darren, from the Youth, Women, and Girls sections of the Gosford All Blacks Rugby Football Club.

Gosford All Blacks are a local community club based at Stratfield Brake in Kidlington, and having accredited First Aiders is an essential part of the safeguarding and first aid provision at the club. Additionally, the ability to be trained practically in the use of a defibrillator (amongst other aspects of the course) could be priceless in protecting life.

Darren says, “The course content was invaluable, and what we learnt on Saturday was quickly put into practice on a busy Sunday morning with a visiting club and over 300 children on site!”

The Emergency First Aid in Rugby Union is also equivalent to the Emergency First Aid at Work course (EFAW).

This isn’t the first time Intertronics has played a small supporting role in Darren’s rugby coaching pastime – he used his annual volunteering day earlier this year to do intensive rugby coaching at Woodstock Primary School. We do like helping out in our local community.
