INT 702 Anti-Static Polyimide Masking Tape is a unique product for masking printed circuit boards during the soldering or conformal coating process. It combines the unmatched temperature resistance of polyimide film with a new surface conductive adhesive. Polyimide film is very often known as "Kapton", which is a brand name and registered trademark of DuPont, a manufacturer of polyimide materials.
Conventional polyimide adhesive tapes can generate up to 10,000 volts of electrostatic charge during tape unwind and during removal from pcb's. Highly charged tapes can induce damage in static sensitive devices, and discharge on to loaded boards. By virtue of its special construction, INT 702 is a low charging tape, which is safe to use in an ESD Protected Area. The low charging characteristics of INT 702 are maintained even at low humidity.
INT 702 withstands the heat of machine soldering, and removes cleanly from the pcb afterwards, leaving no residue. It may also be used for conformal coating.
INT 702 is also available as die-cut discs.
