Description
The ELM FD-1104-P Flux Dispenser Pen is ideal for applying liquid soldering fluxes in all rework situations. It is easily re-filled, and can be transported in field service repair kits.

Flux Dispenser Pen

The ELM FD-1104-P Flux Dispenser Pen has a special applicator tip made from synthetic fibres, not felt. It is specially formed for a long-lasting fine point. Pens are sold with two replacement applicator tips, which are simply pushed into place.

Flux pen tip

Unlike pre-filled pens, the ELM FD-1104-P Flux Dispenser Pen can be filled with a range of rework fluxes; this is especially useful when a number of fluxes have been specified. It may also be used for certain solvents (e.g. IPA), oils, silicones or water.

Instructions
Filling
1) Pull off the flexible rubber end cap, together with the absorbent reservoir core.
2) Immerse the reservoir core into liquid flux, and squeeze the flexible rubber end cap, pulling flux into the reservoir core. Alternatively, leave core to absorb flux, which may take several minutes.
3) Replace core and cap back into Flux Dispenser Pen body, seating firmly.
Note: Do not pour liquids directly into pen body. Overfilling in this way may cause leakage.

When first filled, it may take several minutes for the flux to wick to the tip. For quick use, the tip may be wetted by dipping into the liquid flux.

If flux is not flowing adequately:
1) Confirm that there is flux in the pen.
2) If tip is dry and hard, dip in solvent.
3) Ensure that the reservoir core is in good contact with the inner end of the applicator tip. If it has become loose, the end of the core can be crimped with fingers to ensure a more intimate fit.
