The THINKY NP-100 Nano Pulveriser breaks up particles using impact fragmentation, taking larger particles down to nano-size. The small particles are easily separated out from the pulverising media by using a mesh filter in the ‘Clean Media’ mode to result in effectively pulverised and uniformly dispersed nanoparticles. Suitable for nanomaterials including inorganic pigments, pharmaceutical compounds, drug and medicines, and battery materials. Examples include naproxen, nifedipine, danazol, griseofulvin, phenytoin, indomethacin, aluminium oxide, titanium oxide, lithium carbonate and iron phosphate.
How the THINKY Nano Pulveriser works
The THINKY NP-100 uses centrifugal force on a 45° plane to create strong concentrated energy that increases collision, friction and shear force, effectively pulverising nanoparticles. It allows for small amounts of material – down to as little as 100mg – to be pulverised in as little as just 2 minutes. The built in chiller function cools materials to reduce contamination or physical property changes and cools the unit to avoid overheating and down time between processing. Overall, the pulverising process can be continuous and faster than other methods of nanopulverising.
By using the media separator the mesh filter allows the material to pass through during revolution in the ‘Clean Media’ mode to leave the zirconia balls inside the filter and the material in the container. The zirconia balls can then be set aside to use again.
The THINKY NP-100 avoids issues associated with conventional methods of pulverisation such as large material amounts required, no chilling function to protect materials, long process duration and no function to separate material from media once pulverised.
