Description
The Dymax BlueWave 200 is the industry's highest intensity UVA and visible light producing spot light. It provides faster, deeper curing of UV and visible light curing adhesives, coatings and potting materials. The consistent high intensity of the BlueWave 200 Spot Light eliminates the need for continuous power adjustment and frequent bulb replacement.

Features
- Longest useful bulb life - 2,000 hours
- 20 Watts of UV/visible light curing power
- Up to 40,000+ mW/cm2 of total intensity
- Best multi-wand system available
- Faster, deeper adhesive cures
- Filter protection for lightguide longevity
- With a choice of 2, 3 or 4 split wand lightguides, one BlueWave 200 provides the performance of 2,3 or even 4 spot/wand lights
Performance
Compare BlueWave 200 Intensity with other leading spot/wand lights.

Because of its ultra high intensity and slow light degradation, the BlueWave 200 can deliver over 4-10 times the useful bulb life of other industry spot lights.
Intensity Means Longer Useful Bulb Life
Useful life is the time in which a bulb can maintain a minimum intensity that results in desired cure. The table below depicts an application in which the intensity needs to be maintained above 6 W/cm2 for proper cure. To maintain proper cure, the 100 Watt spot light bulb needs to be replaced in 1,000 hours. The BlueWave 200 bulb lasts 2,000 hours whilst providing faster, more effective cures.

Optimise Intensity and Life - Lower Costs
- Proprietary filter protects lightguides from degrading
- Liquid lightguides transmit 20-30% more UVA light than more costly quartz lightguides
- Liquid lightguides stand up to cleaning and flexing better than quartz fibre
- Light spectrum output is more favorable to photoinitiators in the UVA, violet and blue ranges (300-450 nm)
One BlueWave Replaces Multiple Other Lights
Higher intensity with a choice of 2, 3 or 4 wand lightguides makes the BlueWave 200 2, 3 or 4 workstations. Compare the single and multi-wand liquid light guide performance of the BlueWave 200 with a leading 100 Watt spot lamp.

Wider Area Cures
The BlueWave 200 held at a short distance from a bond provides excellent cures in a few seconds. Below is a single liquid lightguide diagram illustrating the relationship between intensity and distance.

Intensity is inversely proportional to the square of the distance. Most wands emit light at an approximate 56° dispersion angle. Both of these factors mean that light intensity degrades dramatically the further the bond is from any light wand tip. Depending on the intensity required for cure, the BlueWave 200 can provide adequate intensity for curing an area up to 2" or larger. Special purpose BlueWave 200 collimators are available for curing larger areas.
* Intensity at zero distance was measured with a Dymax ACCU-CAL 20 Radiometer. All other intensity measurements were made with a Dymax ACCU-CAL 30 Radiometer set for 5 mm diameter measurement.

Process Control and Maintenance
Degradation of UV lamps, lightguides or reflectors can cause decreases in intensity and create curing problems. Dymax ACCU-CAL 20 Radiometer and the Lightguide Simulator are excellent tools for monitoring your curing process and keeping it cost effective. They are used to indicate the need for lightguide maintenance and to ensure adequate curing, whilst maximising intensity and minimising bulb replacement costs. To ensure accurate process control with a spot light system, light intensity should be measured at the aperture of the lightguide. The ACCU-CAL 20 Radiometer is a self-contained, electro-optic instrument designed to measure and display the intensity emitted at the end of a lightguide, and is critical in establishing control parameters for the spot light system. The Lightguide Simulator is a precision optical tool which substitutes for a lightguide, to allow fast and accurate direct intensity readings from a spot light system.

ACCU-CAL 20 Radiometer

A lightguide simulator is a necessary tool to verify the integrity of the lightguide, and creates a benchmark for intensity measurements
