Description
INT 769 is a masking tape for the protection of printed circuit
boards during soldering. It consists of a water soluble adhesive and supporting base which enables easy removal from printed circuit boards by normal aqueous defluxing.
Application
Avoid air entrapment and stretching of film when placing on the pcb. Once
the tape has been applied, it should be pre-heated for 1-2 minutes at
100-150°C to remove any absorbed moisture before soldering. Normal
pre-heating during the wavesoldering process is adequate.
Removal
Washing time is dependent on a number of factors: the type of system, type
and quantity of jets, water temperature and pressure. A temperature
of at least 60-65°C is recommended to ensure complete dissolution of
the tape. INT 769 is suitable for low water pressure systems. Optimum factors
must be evaluated in each individual case. It is recommended that
a saponifier or detergent be used where possible.
