The objective of conformal coating is to apply a protective layer to the printed circuit board and components to prevent degradation in electrical performance when subjected to environmental stresses encountered in specific operating conditions. Humidity is the most prevalent and also the most damaging environmental stress as it can drastically lower insulation resistance between conductors, accelerate high-voltage breakdown and corrode conductors. Conformal coatings also protect both the printed circuit board and components from airborne or solvent borne contaminants.

Many components and printed circuit board locations must remain uncoated. INTERTRONICS self-adhesive masking tapes for conformal coating offer the perfect solution to ensure areas for use as connector locations or insertion areas for interchangeable devices remain free of the protective coating.

Description
INT 630 is based on polyester film coated with a surface conductive adhesive. Ideal for use with standard temperatures (120°C). Residue-free removal.

Description
INT 631 is based on polyester film coated with a synthetic resin adhesive. Ideal for use at standard temperatures. INT 631-6 is the same as INT 631, but supplied on a liner. The absence of a release coat prevents any possibility of the conformal coating chipping during tape removal.

Description
INT 341 is a reinforced crepe paper masking tape which is highly conformable, and is high temperature. This tape resists process temperatures up to 200°C for 15 to 20 minutes and can then be removed without leaving any residues. The reinforcement prevents tape tearing during removal.

Applications
Conformal coating. Removable masking tape for powder coating processes. Especially suitable for masking irregular surfaces such as aluminium doors and windows, switch and control panels.
