New Araldite Structural Adhesives

The famous Araldite® 2000 Plus Range has just got bigger and now includes five brand new adhesives. Huntsman Advanced Materials has announced additions to the Araldite 2000 Plus range, including polyurethane adhesives and a methacrylate adhesive which requires minimal surface treatment. Multi-purpose adhesive
Araldite 2029 Araldite 2029 is a long open time, polyurethane adhesive. With excellent gap filling properties and high flexibility, this adhesive bonds copper and brass to composites and metals. Suitable for larger components where there is a need for longer open time, it is designed for the transport market, as well as for multi-purpose systems for thermoplastic and composite bonding and the general industrial market such as appliance and consumer electronics. With high peel strength and good adhesion to a wide range of substrates, Araldite 2029 adhesive has found many applications.
Flexible adhesive
Araldite 2045 Araldite 2045 adhesive is a rapid curing system especially formulated for bonding plastics, including polycarbonate, ABS and polyamides, with minimal surface preparation. Araldite 2045 is a general purpose, two-part system for bonding a wide range of substrates. The cured material is very flexible, and it has good gap filling and low shrinkage. It's designed for transportation, FRP bonding and engineering thermoplastic markets as well as general industry. Araldite 2045 polyurethane adhesive is ideal for making smaller sub-assembly plastic components at speed and cost-efficiently. The 'within the hour' curing time allows small component parts to be quickly produced and made ready for the next stage of the assembly process.
Rapid-cure adhesive
Araldite 2028 Araldite 2028 adhesive is a fast setting, transparent, two-part polyurethane adhesive. What makes this polyurethane adhesive different is that it is both transparent and UV stable, as well as flexible and fast curing. Araldite 2028 bonds wide varieties of plastics including polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA, acrylic bonding) and polycarbonate (PC). Tailor made for sign bonding, seismic cables and cable assemblies, as well as general industrial applications.
Toughened adhesives
Araldite 2031 Araldite 2031 adhesive is a general purpose, toughened black epoxy adhesive with relatively high flexibility and with gap filling properties and excellent long term stability. Araldite 2031 is a two-component, room temperature curing paste that gives a resilient bond. It is thixotropic and non-sagging up to 10mm thickness. Great with applications up to 100°C with high sheer and peel strength. It's particularly suitable for GRP, polyamide and SMC bonding. Transportation, sports and leisure and bonding thermoset plastics and metals markets will benefit greatly from using this adhesive.
Araldite 2048 Araldite 2048 adhesive is a multi-purpose MMA adhesive for thermoplastic and composite bonding, providing tough flexible bonds with high peel values ideal for dynamic environments. Araldite 2048 is a two component, room temperature curing adhesive. It is fast setting and was developed to minimise the amount of surface pre-treatment required on imperfect surfaces. Great for bonding a wide range of metals and plastics, and gap filling is accomplishable up to 8mm. It has a good ratio between pot life and time to manipulate the bonded parts. It forms tough and flexible bonds with high peel strength, making it ideal in environments such as on boats and in the road and rail transport sectors.
