Spot This! New DYMAX UV/Visible Curing Lamps
The BlueWave
LED visible light, high-intensity spot curing system from DYMAX
Corporation offers you many advantages over traditional UV spot curing
systems including:
• No bulb to change or replace
• Cool cures
• No warm up, instant on/off
• Constant intensity for thousands of hours
The BlueWave
LED generates light using an array of surface mount LEDs (Light
Emitting Diodes) instead of traditional metal halide or mercury bulbs. The LEDs
produce visible light energy in a relatively narrow wavelength band centred
at 410nm, as contrasted to a typical broad band, high-pressure UV bulb (300-500nm).
This system emits a maximum visible light intensity output of over 2,500mW/cm² from
a 8mm diameter light guide, and allows users to adjust intensity output from
0% to 100%. The relatively narrow band produced by LEDs generates cooler curing
temperatures.
The Bluewave LED is excellent for spot curing of coatings, as
well as adhesive bonding of polycarbonate, PVC, PET, metal, glass and many other
substrates. Learn the difference between
visible light curing and UV light curing.
The Bluewave
200 UV Curing Spot Lamp offers the highest intensity and
the most user-friendly operation in the industry. Now, a new intensity
adjustment feature
allow simple, manual intensity adjustment during initial UV process validation
and production.
As with any manufacturing process, defining an acceptable processing window is
a crucial step in developing your UV curing process. The new intensity
adjustment feature allows you to evaluate the full range of
intensity produced by the BlueWave 200 spot lamp, from 0 to
100%. Thus, the upper and lower intensity limits of a UV curing process can easily
be identified in an actual production setting. When in production, routine radiometer
measurements performed in accordance with your good manufacturing practices will
determine if any further intensity adjustment is required. The average BlueWave
200 bulb
varies less than 1% over 8 hours of normal use, so daily or weekly adjustments
are typical adequate to maintain a tight controlled process.
The BlueWave 200 primarily emits UV-A and blue visible light (300-450nm) and is designed for UV curing adhesives, coatings and encapsulating. The BlueWave 200 is the most versatile, user-friendly and reliable UV spot curing lamp available.
