A gem of an adhesive

It was exciting to receive e-mail from a satisfied customer:
My order for optical epoxy Opti-tec 5013 arrived. I used it over the past two days to repair an exhibit-quality quartz specimen that had been damaged. It set quickly, so I was able to leave the specimen in a small sand-box for support as it cured. The refractive index of the epoxy is exactly the same as quartz, so the glue lines are totally invisible. As a test, I repaired a broken optical-grade quartz crystal from Mt. Ida, Arkansas. The join is invisible, even in water-clear quartz. I was very upset when the display specimen was broken, but with your epoxy it is completely restored.
We know that mineralogists have used optical epoxy in the past, but based on this feedback, we think we have something superior to offer.

A marathon effort

Our heartiest congratulations to David Hewitt, of sales partners ACC Silicones, who has just completed the London Marathon!

David says:
DONE IT!!! Flora London Marathon completed in 2 hour 10 mins and greeted with a kiss and interview with Sue Barker on the line. OK, OK... so it was 4 hour 16 mins with a lot of moaning and groaning, but a least I beat Batman and Robin, and Bob the Builder.
Well, we are certainly impressed, and very pleased for Dave, who raised an impressive amount for his chosen charity.

The icing on the cake

Most of the automated, robotic dispensers we supply go to the sort of industrial companies one might expect - they are used to dispense adhesives, gaskets, inks & coatings to people making electronics, parts for cars, furniture and the like.

So it's nice to have a slight change of pace - we have furnished a company with dispensing robots for cake decoration. The reasons, however, are the usual ones - increased accuracy and quality, and increased production throughput.
